At Sunnybank Mills Gallery, Farsley, Leeds – ‘Printmakers’ Circle’ annual exhibition.
This spacious gallery at Farsley is part of a large Victorian Textile Mills complex, currently being repurposed. A broad range of fine worsted cloths was originally produced there, and the redevelopment includes an archival museum, artists’ studios, community activity spaces, offices, workshops, restaurant and shop.
The gallery requested of the Printmakers’ Circle that each of us produce, for the exhibition, a new print inspired by Sunnybank Mills. My choice was to draw and print a line/tone image of the roof ventilators.
The opening day of the show, with printmaking demonstrations, was well supported and a great success. The exhibition is open until 14 May.
